Weddings

Congratulations on your engagement! A very warm welcome to you if you are thinking about being married at Holy Trinity.

Church Wedding

Please have a read through the information below which will hopefully answer the main questions you probably have about getting married in our church. We would love to make the day personal to you and get to know you to help make this day special, so if you would like to get marred at Holy Trinity, please get in touch.

Wedding Guide

We will do our best to make your wedding day memorable for you, your family and your friends. This will be a very exciting time for both of you with many things to think about and plan. A good starting point is place and location.

Can we get married at Holy Trinity?

You can get married here if either, or both of you, live in the parish, are on the church electoral roll, or have close family links with the parish. Click here to see a list of "qualifying connections" which allows you to get married in a church.

To find your Parish church, visit AChurchNearYou and enter the postcode of your address into the search box. Select the correct address when it appears, and then click the arrow button to search. Your search results will show a list of churches near to you and a map showing the parish where you live shaded in orange. At the top of the list, highlighted in an orange box, will be the church or churches in the parish which cover your postcode/address. If it is not clear which is your parish, for example if you live on the very edge of a parish boundary, or if you live in a newly-built housing area please contact us.

Our vicar also has a legal responsibility to be satisfied that you can lawfully marry before any arrangements can be confirmed.

Which dates and times are available?

Why get married at Holy Trinity?

Our church is a beautiful building found on the slopes of the picturesque Malvern Hills, with seating for up to 250 people, making the perfect location for a wedding. Rev Becky Elliott will work with you to plan your special day.

There are certain other important distinctions which make a church wedding different to a civil service in a registry office or other licensed venue. Here are three things which we believe about marriage which might see us take a different approach to a wedding:

  • We believe that marriage is a gift from God; a gift which celebrates joy and love, a gift which helps us care for one another - especially children, and a gift which helps to build and strengthen our communities, so we want to help you celebrate.
  • We believe that there is a certain solemnness and seriousness to marriage, the lifelong vows taken and promises made are hugely important, so we treat marriage with reverence and respect.
  • We believe that marriage works best when God is 'at the centre' - the Bible tells us that 'love comes from God', he gives us the love to be faithful and sacrificial in our marriages. To that end, we will pray for you, include a Bible reading and short talk in the service, and help you to consider God's love as you prepare for marriage.

Banns of marriage

Most weddings will require banns reading several weeks before the ceremony. They need to be read in the parish church where each of you lives and in the church where you will be married, if that is in a different place.

To find your Parish church, visit AChurchNearYou (see above). Once you’re in touch with your parish church, tell them your good news, the date of your wedding and that you need local banns reading.

While it's not essential, attending the readings can be a special part of the build-up to your wedding. It's a chance to hear your intentions announced publicly and feel the support of your community. Most importantly you'll hear the church community offering prayers for you as you prepare for your wedding day and the years beyond.

What will it cost?

The fee for a wedding is £702. This includes the vicar and a small church team to help make your wedding day go smoothly.

There are some optional extras:

  • Organist and organ - £138
  • Choir - £75
  • Heating - £70
  • Livestreaming - £77 (this allows people who are unable to attend your wedding in person to join the wedding ceremony online)
You are welcome to bring your own flowers.

If you would like to use the Parish Hall for your reception, then please let us know and we can discuss your requirements and costs.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Welcome

You are very welcome to come along and join us for any of our services. Here is some information about what to expect.

Where and When

We meet at Holy Trinity Church (details here) for our main Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. When you arrive, you will be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a red lanyard. You will be given a service sheet and hymn book to follow the service.

Find somewhere to sit where you feel comfortable. Not sure what to do? Don't worry, we're all very friendly so please do ask.

Accessibility: There is step-free wheelchair access and parking available right outside the door. We also have a sound loop, large print material and different colour overlays available. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. We have an accessible toilet in the church.

Church service

Our Service

The service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome to everyone. The service consists of hymns accompanied by the organ, bible readings and prayers. There is usually a sermon which is based on a bible reading that we've heard and that we can apply to our everyday life. During Holy Communion services there is an opportunity to receive bread and wine or a blessing. You are invited to join in with as much or as little of the service as you wish.

Please see our services page to find out more about all of our services.

After the service, you are welcome to stay for tea/coffee and biscuits. It is a great way to meet people and find out about all the activities that happen during the week. Refreshments are free, donations are welcome.

Children & Young People

Children and young people are welcome to attend any of our services. We have a children's corner in church where younger children can play and colour during the service. We have some services which are particularly suitable for families (please see our calendar). We also have Creative Church on one Sunday afternoon per month during term time which is an informal service designed specifically for children and families - find out more.

Getting Connected

Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Coming to one of our activities in the week allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a range of regular activities happening throughout the year (see our Church Life page). We also run bible study groups and short courses at various times throughout the year - let one of our Ministry team know if you would be interested in joining the next one.

Serving and Volunteering

There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the running of the church. This could be joining a team to help Sunday services run smoothly, helping with our work with children, or doing something behind the scenes like gardening and flower arranging. If you would like to volunteer your time and skills, please get in touch with one of our churchwardens team to discuss how you could help keep our community thriving.
